The reading
The plan reads the Bible in the order its story happened, in 365 days of about the same length. It starts at Day 1 whenever you do, and waits when you miss a day. Each day links out to the passage at BibleGateway in the New Living Translation, or the NIV or ESV if you choose. This site doesn’t reprint the Bible’s text; short quotations carry Tyndale’s credit line.
The history
Each day’s “Behind the words” draws on history, archaeology and the Hebrew and Greek. Where scholars and traditions disagree, about who wrote a book, when, or what happened, the page sets the views side by side and says who holds each, so you can weigh them yourself. Every source is listed under the page and on the Bookshelf. Dates are given BC and AD.
The pictures
The drawings are original illustrations of objects and places, never people, and never an image of God. None is drawn from a photograph.
